Disability, Work, and School Resources

Living with Long COVID can impact your ability to work, attend school, and carry out daily activities. Navigating accommodations and disability-related resources can feel overwhelming, but support is available. Below we have provided resources for getting help at work and/or school. If you are unable to work and need to apply for Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI), we have a guide to get you started.

Workplace Accommodations

Employees with Long COVID may be eligible for reasonable accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

School Accommodations

Students experiencing Long COVID symptoms may qualify for support under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act or an Individualized Education Program (IEP). If your school has a social worker or a disability resource office, they might be able to help.

Social Security Disability Insurance

If Long COVID significantly impacts your ability to work, you may qualify for Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) or Supplemental Security Income (SSI), depending on your situation. If you need help applying, consider seeking assistance from a disability advocate or legal expert.
